We went for an ultrasound at 15 weeks and found out we are having a little girl!! I get an ultrasound at the hospital at 20 weeks but we wanted to know ASAP so we opted to go to an ultrasound place out in town to find out early. Morgan has been saying all along that this one is a girl. I don't know what gave him that inclination but he was right! We are both really excited. I think initially he was a little nervous. As he said, "I am scared for my life now." A girl is going to be a whole different ball game. But I know with every ounce of me that he will be an outstanding father to her just like he is with Cayle. I can't wait to see the bond that he will make with our daughter.
As for me, I am over the moon. The thought of having two boys sounded so fun but I have always dreamed of having a daughter. I adore the relationship I have with my mother and grandmothers and have always wanted to share that with a daughter of my own.
We had a name picked out before the ultrasound. But now that we know she is a she...Morgan has changed his mind. So, we are still trying to decide on a name. We have plenty of time to decide but I am just so ready to have a name for her so I can start calling her by name. :)
The second trimester is going way better than the first. I am getting my energy back and have started back running again. I am eating constantly and not eating as many sweets...just eating anything and everything. I was getting headaches pretty freaquently and found out that chocolate can trigger headaches so I have cut back on that. I definitely haven't had as many headaches since. I must say I have some amazing friends and they are always there to answer questions or help me out when I am unsure as to what is going on with this pregnant body. It is really nice to have nurse friends!!! :)
Other than feeling better and eating all the time...that is about it. We now tell Cayle all the time that he is going to be a big brother and he seems really excited. I think he is slowly comprehending what it means. He has a book about being a big brother and he LOVES it. It has really helped him understand the concept. When we ask him if he is happy he is going to have a baby sister he always replies with, "YEAH!!".
I am just so excited about this baby and am trying to enjoy this pregnancy and not rush it. Even though I can't wait to have our little girl here!!!!
Thanks to everyone for all of the love and support. I will say it a million times...we have the best family and friends ever!!
